Growing and Changing in P1Mc/W
This month Primary 1 have been learning all about babies and how to care for them. Our baby clinic was a busy place where babies came to get measured and weighed. Nurses were great at giving injections to help the babies stay healthy and well and the boys and girls had lots of practice at changing and feeding the babies. Meanwhile over at the water tray we learned how to bath the babies and get them dried and dressed too.
We thought about how we have changed since we were babies and everyone enjoyed sharing their timelines with the class. We laughed and laughed at some of the things we got up to when we were babies and toddlers and were very proud to show some of the things we have achieved now we are big boys and girls.
We compared and contrasted how different animals care for their young and we especially enjoyed learning about owls and their owlets. We used the dough and lots of different materials to create owl families. We tried to make them different sizes just like Sarah, Percy and Bill from the story Owl Babies.
